YouMoveMe.org was founded in August 2008 by the Memory Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young Americans care deeply about the well-being of people in all places.

To do this, YouMoveMe.org provides essays written by youth around the world whose challenges have given them much to share about life, the human experience, and hope for the future. We invite educators of all levels to share these essays with their students in any way they like. The essays are followed by questions for use in group discussions and writing assignments.
